Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh is a government body that organizes high school and intermediate examination in state. To fulfill the objective of quality education, organize examination and prescribing syllabus the board was brought into existence in 1921 with headquarters in Allahabad. UP Board exams 2014 witnesses multiple cheating attempts

The recently ended UP Board exams witnessed many attempts at cheating, although a final list of students or those aiding in cheating has not been released. From Bareilly district itself 51 students have been caught using unfair means during the exams, according to reports. 

Various means are employed to try and cheat the exams, with students shelling out anywhere from Rs 2,000 to Rs 20,000. Outsiders aid cheating by providing fake invigilators, sending imposters to attempt the exam on behalf of the student, dictating answers, writing answers on the blackboards and allowing students to take copying material into exam hall. Risk of cheating does not end with the exam either; after exam ends the persons helping with cheating try and increase marks at the evaluation centre or replace the answer sheet with a different one.

The UP Board Class 10 exams began from March 3, 2014 and ended on March 21, 2014 with 14 exam dates and the UP Board Class 12 exams also began from March 3, 2014 and ended on April 4, 2014 with 25 exam dates.

Around 1.12 lakh students registered for the Uttar Pradesh Board exams from both Class 10 and Class 12. From the total 1.12 lakh students, 59, 254 students registered for Class 10, including 30,368 boys and 28,886 girls while 53,346 students, including 26,960 boys and 26,386 girls registered for the Class 12 examination. In comparison to the 2013 UP Board exams, almost a 9.5 per cent increase in students registered for class 10 and class 12 exams has been witnessed.

UPSC SCRA exam 2014 results to be released shortly

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be releasing the Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam (SCRA) 2014 result shortly. Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam (SCRA) 2014 was held on January 12, 2014.

The written examination consisted of 3 Papers of 200 marks each: General Ability Test, Physical Sciences and Mathematics, each to be completed within a duration of 2 hours. Negative marking was applicable.

After successfully clearing the SCRA written exam, short listed candidates will be called for a Personality test to be conducted by means of an interview by the Board. Candidates will be assessed on their leadership skills, initiative, intellectual curiosity and mental and physical energy. Maximum marks for the interview are 200.

The SCRA exam is used for selection of aspirants to the Mechanical Department of the Indian Railways. Selected candidates will undergo a 4-year training program during which they will also complete a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. The degree will be awarded by Birla Institute of Technology Ranchi. After successful completion of their training the aspirants will join the esteemed Indian Railway Service beginning with a probationary role as Mechanical Engineers for 18 months. UPSC has announced a total of 42 vacancies for which the SCRA scores will be considered.

Uttar Pradesh Board exams 2014 begin with 1.12 lakh students

Around 1.12 lakh students are to appear for the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Board exams which begin today for both Class 10 and Class 12. From the total of 1.12 lakh students, 59, 254 students will appear for Class 10, including 30,368 boys and 28,886 girls while 53,346 students, including 26,960 boys and 26,386 girls will attempt the Class 12 examination. In comparison to the 2013 UP Board exams, almost 9.5 per cent increase in students attempting class 10 and class 12 exams has been witnessed.

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Board has increased the number of exam centres for the 2013-2014 Board exam by 13 centres, giving a grand total of 229 available exam centres. The UP Board Class 10 exams have begun from March 3, 2014 and end on March 21, 2014 with 14 exam dates. The UP Board Class 12 exams also began from March 3, 2014 and end on April 4, 2014 with 25 exam dates. The exams will be held in two shifts: the first shift from 07:30 AM to 10:45 AM and the second shift will take place from 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM.

Class 10 exam for March 3, 2014 is for the subject of Hindi held in the first shift and the Class 12 exam for March 3, 2014 is Military Science in the first shift and Hindi - I in the second shift.

The UP Board class 10 exams have their results scheduled to be released in the last week of May or first week of June, 2014 and the result of Class 12 is expected to be declared in the first week of June 2014.
